What the Irish captain said after losing the match

Sports Desk: Ireland lost after visiting Bangladesh. Bangladesh scored a record 338 runs in the first game of the three-match ODI series.

Ireland got off to a great start chasing Bangladesh’s highest team run in ODI cricket.

After scoring 60 runs without losing any wickets, the team then lost 5 wickets for just 16 runs and virtually crashed out of the match.

Ireland lost the match by 183 runs after being bowled out for 155 runs in 30.5 overs due to a batting disaster.

After the game, Ireland captain Andy Balbirnie said, “We got off to a great start.” But we had to pay the price due to the fall of 5 wickets.

“We don’t want to use experience as an excuse for this loss,” he added. Bangladesh played very good cricket and won the match.

The second match of the series will be on Monday. Expressing his determination to turn around in that match, the Ireland captain said, “We will get another chance on Monday.” We want to compete in that match. I want to do better that day than today, especially with the bat.
