The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 will be held in India in October this year. However, six months before the start of the World Cup, the complexity of Pakistan’s participation is not going away. There is a rumor that the World Cup match will be played in Bangladesh if necessary and not in India.
According to a report by the popular cricket-based website ESPNcricinfo on Wednesday (March 29), the India-Pakistan bilateral series has been suspended for a long time due to political conflicts. The two neighbors meet only in ICC and ACC events. Due to the World Cup being held in India, complications have arisen regarding Pakistan’s participation. Similarly, India has objected to the participation of Asia Cup to be held in Pakistan.
Cricket’s highest governing body (ICC) is in trouble in such a confrontation between the two neighbors. Now India and Pakistan are looking for a solution for these two events. India will play their matches in the Asia Cup in September at neutral venues. On the other hand, there are rumors that the matches of the World Cup will be played in Bangladesh instead of India if necessary. At the end of the discussion meeting of the Pakistan Cricket Board, this is not what has been proposed.
Although ICC and Indian Cricket Board will accept this matter at all. Only time will tell. The ODI World Cup will be held in India in October this year. A total of 48 matches will be held with the participation of ten teams.
