News Daily Digital Desk: Amritpal Singh, the latest ‘poster boy’ of Khalistani, has been arrested by the Punjab Police in a chokehold operation. That was heard on Saturday afternoon. But it remained unclear whether he was actually arrested. A large police force chased him and arrested him, while another source claimed that Amritpal was not arrested. He escaped with the bike under the nose of the police. In the end, the police accepted that demand. It has been reported that Amritpal is absconding. A manhunt is being conducted to nab him. A few of Amritpal’s close friends also returned. In this situation, a strict warning has been issued in Punjab.
Various rumors were created from the position of the police. The Punjab Police neither sealed the news of Amritpal’s arrest nor denied the claim. Later, the police’s statement was overturned. Meanwhile, 78 people have been arrested so far. They have been arrested on charges of disturbing communal harmony in the state. All in all a troubled Punjab. Internet connectivity in many districts of the state has been closed since Saturday. That connection was not restored on Sunday.

Amritpal is the head of Khalistani organization ‘Waris Punjab De’. The police arrested his close aide Lobhreet Tufan last month. After that, Amritpal told RG to withdraw all the charges against Lovepreet. Saaf said, “If all the complaints are not dismissed within an hour, the result will not be good. If there is any problem if the complaint is not dismissed, the administration alone will be responsible for it.” It was then that the situation became tense. Amritpal’s followers surrounded the police station. Some police personnel were injured in the attack. Notably, ‘Waris Punjab De’ was created by late politician Deep Sidhu. After his death, the responsibility of the organization fell on Amritpal.
