The first look of the new Parliament building has been revealed amid controversy over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s inauguration. The Prime Minister tweeted on Friday and shared a video of the interior of the new Parliament building on social media.
The 1 minute 48 second video shows a high-angle view of the state-of-the-art Lok Sabha Chamber, Rajya Sabha Chamber and other rooms inside the new Parliament building. The roof of the Rajya Sabha is designed in the pattern of the national flower lotus. On the other hand, the roof of the Lok Sabha chamber is designed in the pattern of the national bird peacock. The three main entrances to the building are Jnana Dwara, Shakti Dwara and Karma Dwara. A grand Constitution Hall has been built in the new Parliament building to showcase India’s democratic heritage. Apart from this, there is a two-chamber lounge for MPs, a library, multiple committee rooms, dining area, parking space and private rooms for MPs. The Ashoka Pillar, the national symbol of India, has already been installed on the roof of the Parliament building. Sculptures of eagles, elephants, horses, and crocodiles are displayed at the six formal entrances and the public entrance. In both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, two MPs sit side by side on a bench. Each seat has digital system and touch screen. Meanwhile, the Union Finance Ministry said that a special coin of 75 rupees will be launched on the occasion of the inauguration of the new Parliament building.
