Kejriwal after Mamata, Delhi CM boycotts Niti Aayog meeting

News Daily Digital Desk: Another chief minister walked out ahead of the NITI Aayog meeting on Saturday. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote a letter to Prime Minister (PM Narendra Modi) boycotting the meeting. He said, the cooperative federal structure is now just a mockery. So, attending NITI Aayog meetings is pointless. It is to be noted that earlier Bengal Chief Minister canceled the meeting of Niti Ayog despite announcing to attend it. He offered to send Finance Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya as a representative. The Niti Aayog Committee rejected it. As a result, there is no representative from Bengal in Saturday’s meeting. Walking that way, Kejriwal also said that Delhi is boycotting the Niti Aayog meeting.

The Delhi government is once again in opposition to the Centre. The decision-making power of the Delhi government regarding the appointment and transfer of bureaucrats has been curtailed in the Centre’s latest Ordinance. It will be tabled in the next session of Parliament. Likely to pass in majority. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal approached the opposition parties to stop it. Nitish Kumar in Delhi met Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata and sought cooperation. He is also scheduled to meet with other leaders of the opposition. The message is the same, if the bill is introduced in the Rajya Sabha, the opposition should come together and block it.

On Friday, Kejriwal wrote a letter to the Prime Minister saying, “People will ask, if the Prime Minister does not obey the Supreme Court order, then where will the common people go for justice.” There is no point in attending Niti Aayog meeting in this situation. Because the cooperative federal structure has now become a mockery. However, the Center claims that Saturday’s Niti Aayog meeting is important in several aspects. Chief Ministers of all states except Bengal and Delhi are likely to attend. They will directly discuss with the Prime Minister.
