Jacqueline had to run around the court for the last year as she was named in the charge sheet of the financial fraud case with Sukesh. There was no relief from that even this year.
Sukesh claimed to the police that he had a ‘deep’ relationship with Jacqueline. In the investigation of this case, Jacqueline first denied the relationship with Sukesh during the interrogation of the officers of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the intelligence agency of the financial sector of India. Later, when Jacqueline was taken to court in the case, she said that Sukesh had ‘cheated’ her, ‘played’ with her emotions.
In the case, the ED also confiscated the property worth Rs 7 crore of the actress, besides her foreign travel was banned last year. It was alleged that Jacqueline received at least Rs 5.71 lakh as a gift from Sukesh, the source of which was the smuggled Rs 200 crore.
In ED’s cross-examination, Jacqueline said that she was not the only one, many other stars used to receive gifts from Sukesh, including Nora Fatehi. Star dancer Nora filed a case against Jacqueline alleging ‘defamation’.
