Inter Milan won the Coppa Italia title last season as well. The club retained the title in the 2022/23 season as well. Inter beat Fiorentina 2-1 in the Coppa Italia final to win the title. Argentina’s World Cup-winning striker Lotaro Martinez scored two goals for Inter on this day.
This is Inter’s 9th Coppa Italia title. AS Roma also have 9 titles equal to them. And Juventus is at the top with 14 titles.
Fiorentina took the lead in the third minute. Giacomo Bonaventura’s cross was met by Gonzalez at the far post. The unguarded Argentine forward did the rest with ease.
Inter got their first notable chance in the sixth minute. Dzeko took a shot outside from a very good place. After six minutes, Fiorentina’s Sofian Amrabat couldn’t keep a shot from a dangerous spot on target. Dzeko missed a great chance in the 24th minute. He received the ball in a dangerous area from Argentine striker Martinez and hit it wide.
After five minutes Inter equalized from every attack. An unguarded Martinez found the back of the net after Marcelo Brzovic’s defense-slicing pass. This is his 26th goal for Inter in all competitions this season. Inter went ahead in the 37th minute. Martinez beat the goalkeeper again with an acrobatic volley from Nico Barella’s cross.
Inter Milan secured the title with a 2-1 win as there were no more goals in the second half. Inter Milan will face Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League final on June 10.
