Bangladesh won the series by crushing Ireland on Shakib’s world record day

In response to the 203 runs given by the Tigers, Shakib’s devastating bowling ended the visitors’ innings at 125 runs. Bangladesh confirmed the series with a 77-run win with one match remaining. Shakib took 5 wickets for 22 runs for the Tigers.

Shakib also set a new world record for taking five wickets on the day. He is now the owner of the highest wicket in the shortest format of cricket. Shakib achieved this feat by taking 5 wickets in the second T20 match of the series against Ireland. He topped Team Southee to become the highest wicket-taker. Shakib is on top with 136 wickets in 114 matches. South is second with 2 wickets less than him.

Earlier, the batsmen of Bangladesh, who ran rampant with the bat in the first T20, continued that trend in the second match of the series as well. Bangladesh scored 202 runs losing 3 wickets in 17 overs set by Liton Das’ record fifty. Liton Das scored 83 runs off 41 balls for the Tigers.
