Bangalore’s number 17 and 333 jerseys are retired

Sports Desk: De Villiers and Chris Gayle have played in Bengaluru’s jersey for a long time. Their contribution to this club is also undeniable. Therefore, IPL has taken the initiative to honor these two former cricketers of the club.

They are being inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame, as well as retiring their number 17 and 333 jerseys.

Last year, Bengaluru announced the induction of De Villiers and Gayle into the Hall of Fame. De Villiers has played 11 seasons in this club since 2011. The South African batting great’s jersey number was 17. He scored 4491 runs in 156 matches with 37 half centuries and 2 centuries.

On the other hand, Gayle was in Bangalore from 2011 to 2017. He scored a total of 3163 runs in five centuries. This batsman scored the highest 175 runs in IPL history. His jersey number 333, the specialty of the number, is also the highest Test run.

Bengaluru will host an unboxing event at their home ground Chinnaswamy Stadium on March 26. Their IPL chapter will begin with this event. De Villiers and Gayle will be honored there through an event.

“Jersey numbers 17 and 333 are being retired forever in honor of AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle,” the franchise said on Twitter. RCB Legends will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on that day.’
