Entertainment Desk: Actress Mahia Mahi has been arrested. A case has been filed against him under the Digital Security Act for maligning the image of the police. Actress Mahi, who went to perform Umrah with her husband last Friday morning, complained of vandalism and attack on Rakib’s car showroom on Facebook Live from Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
The actress accused Gazipur Metropolitan Police of taking ‘bribe’ on live. The police filed a case under the Digital Security Act against Mahia Mahi and her husband Rakib Sarkar for maligning the image of the police. Mahi was arrested in this case.
He was arrested from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at around 12:15 on Saturday after returning home from Saudi Arabia. Gazipur Metropolitan Police DC DB (North) Md. Ibrahim Khan confirmed the arrest of Mahi.
Gazipur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Molya Nazrul Islam said that the actress has tried to get people’s sympathy by lying on Facebook. He also complained against the police. They are on a mission to debunk the police. The police have booked them under the Digital Security Act for defamation.
