Entertainment Desk: Actress Mahia Mahi arrested by police in Digital Security Act case.
Gazipur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Molya Nazrul Islam said that he was arrested from Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 12:15 on Saturday after returning home from Saudi Arabia.
He said that a case was filed under the Digital Security Act against Mahia Mahi and her husband Rakib Sarkar on Friday night for defaming the image of the police.
Incidentally, on Friday afternoon, Ismail Hossain, son of Haji Nuru of Dighir Chala village in Gazipur metropolis, held a press conference and complained against actress Mahia Mahi and her husband Rakib Sarkar of the seizure of his land. Earlier on Friday, while she was in Saudi Arabia with her husband to perform Umrah, Mahi came on Facebook live and claimed that her husband’s car showroom was attacked and vandalized.
However, in the press conference held in the afternoon, Ismail Hossain claimed that the land and establishment of the showroom next to the Dhaka-Tangail highway east of the Bhawal Badre Alam Government College in Chandana Chowrasta area of the city is his own.
On Facebook Live, Mahi accused the Gazipur Metropolitan Police of taking ‘bribe’. The police filed a case under the Digital Security Act against Mahi and her husband Rakib for defamation.
