Abhishek was studying at Boston University after attending a boarding school called Aiglon College in Switzerland, when his family, especially Amitabh Bachchan, was in dire financial straits. After losing everything, the Bachchan family had their backs against the wall.
Abhishek said the situation was so bad that Amitabh Bachchan “had to borrow money from his staff” so that he could provide food for his family. It was then that Abhishek Bachchan decided to drop out of college in Boston and help his father in any way he could.
Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited or ABCL, Big B’s business venture that he started in 1995, shouldered the catastrophic debt burden. The whole family is in extreme financial crisis. Abhishek returned to his family in India between 1995-1997 and started helping Amitabh Bachchan.
